aka: Pierre Norman Connor (Some credits bear this name, others just Pierre Norman.)
Pierre Norman was born Joseph Pierre Coonor in Kingston, Pennsylvania on November 16, 1895. He earned his degrees including a Doctor of Music at St. Bonaventure College and his primary career later in life was as a chaplain and pastor though earlier on he wrote popular music. His two biggest successes as a songwriter came in collaboration with Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal on the songs "You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me" (1930) and "When I Take My Sugar to Tea" (1931). In his collaborations with Fain and Kahal, he most likely contributed more to the writing of the music than the words.
Pierre Norman Connor also contributed to the scores for movies such as The Big Pond, Young Man from Manhattan, The Perfect Fool, Blood and Sand, and Stars on Ice.
