"You Fascinate Me So"

"You Fascenate Me So" is the only song Leigh and Coleman co-wrote for Demi-Dozen; however, Leigh wrote lyrics for several of the revue's other songs that have music by other composers than Coleman. Leign and Coleman had previously collaborated on one other song included in the Cafe Songbook Catalog of The Great American Songbook, "Witchcraft."

Demi-Dozen was one of a series of revues produced by cabaret impresario Julius Monk, most of which were performed at The Downstairs Room of the hip New York club, Upstairs at the Downstairs during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Monk was a fascinating creature who combined southern American charm with European cosmopolitan style and New York hipness.

Most of the cast for Demi-Dozen had appeared in the previous Monk revue Take Five from 1957. They included Ronny Graham, Jean Arnold, Gerry Matthews, and Ceil Cabot. Others included a Monk newcomer comedienne Jane Connell as well as Jack Fletcher and George Hill. Most of the numbers were aimed at elements of New York life, though one, "Statehood Hula," took as its object of satire the progress of Hawaii toward becoming the 50th state.
