"Dancing on the Ceiling"
The original title for this song when it was intended for the 1930 show Simple Simon was "He Dances on My Ceiling" where it was to be performed by Doree Leslie and the ensemble. The song was cut before the New York opening. It was then premiered later in the same year by Jessie Matthews and Sonny Hale as "Dancing on the Ceiling" in Ever Green, a Rodgers and Hart show produced by Charles Cochran for the London stage.
